Please note that foster carers are self-employed and may be liable to tax so appropriate advice should be sought.

Payments to foster carers include:
• Boarding out allowance for every young person placed.
• The young person's weekly pocket money.
• The young person's weekly clothing allowance.
• Birthday and Christmas gifts.
• Family holidays.
